I run a photography studio in Al Quoz and we've got some seriously heavy lighting equipment, backdrop stands, and camera rigs that need to be moved around constantly between our different shooting bays, and honestly the current system of just dragging things across the floor is causing damage to both the equipment and our studio flooring. I've had a couple of near-misses where expensive lights have almost tipped over because someone was trying to carry them without proper support, and I really can't afford to replace any more gear or deal with a workplace injury claim. I've been looking at various moving solutions and I think something like a steel dolly trolley would be perfect because it's low-profile enough to slide under our equipment cases and stands, but sturdy enough to handle the weight without any wobbling or instability. The metal construction also means it'll hold up better than the plastic ones I've tried before, which just cracked under the weight after a few months of use. The main thing I'm unsure about is whether the wheels are smooth enough to move delicate equipment without jarring it, because some of our lighting gear is pretty sensitive to vibration and shocks. Has anyone else in a creative field found a good solution for moving heavy studio equipment around safely?
